50 favorite madrigals, chansons, and lieder for singing and playing. Edited by Sarah Mead.
A favorite tradition at CDSS Early Music Week at Pinewoods is Madrigal Night, where we gather with the beverages of our choice to sing everyone’s favorites. This collection includes everyone’s old favorite 4- and 5-part pieces from “The Acapella Singer”, plus more old favorites that aren’t in it – and maybe your new favorites, too!
Editions are laid out for easy reading, with minimal page turns in a spiral-bound book that stays open on your music stand. Pieces are presented in their original languages, in modern notation with barlines, and with only treble and bass clefs (no C clefs).
Since these pieces are all four or five parts, you can buy five copies to make a “party pack” at $20/copy so everyone can read from their own book. Use the coupon code “singalong” at checkout for orders of five or more copies.
This book is printed on demand if it isn’t in stock, and shipped to you when it’s ready.
Description
50 favorite madrigals, chansons, and lieder for singing and playing. Edited by Sarah Mead.
This book came about because Sarah and I and our colleague Lisa Terry were complaining about the editions in the Acapella Singer, and how great it would be if there were a better option for recreational playing and singing: Legible editions, spiral bound so it stays open on a music stand, minimal page turns, original languages, etc. And if you want something done, sometimes you have to do it yourself! Sarah did all the editing work, I did the graphics and figured out the details of printing and distributing it, and now here it is!
