This book came about because Sarah and I and our colleague Lisa Terry were complaining about the editions in the Acapella Singer, and how great it would be if there were a better option for recreational playing and singing: Legible editions, spiral bound so it stays open on a music stand, minimal page turns, original languages, etc. And if you want something done, sometimes you have to do it yourself! Sarah did all the editing work, I did the graphics and figured out the details of printing and distributing it, and now here it is!<\/p>\n
A favorite tradition at CDSS Early Music Week at Pinewoods is Madrigal Night, where we gather with the beverages of our choice to sing everyone\u2019s favorites. This collection includes everyone\u2019s old favorite 4- and 5-part pieces from \u201cThe Acapella Singer\u201d, plus more old favorites that aren\u2019t in it \u2013 and maybe your new favorites, too!<\/p>\n
