Ensemble Skills All By Your Lonesome

Four Sessions, January 10, 17, 24, and 31 at 7PM Eastern.

This class focuses on ensemble skills listening to other parts while playing your own; responding to what you hear; giving clear cues and cutoff’s; keeping the rhythm steady; leading and following tempo changes; and understanding how your part fits into the broader picture. We’ll also touch on some of the theory and harmony of ensemble music that can be difficult to approach when you just play a melody instrument and you’re on your own.  Of course there’s nothing like playing with other people, but it’s still possible to practice and improve your ensemble skills even when you’re all by yourself using your humble cell phone video camera.

Camera shy? We’ll work on that too! All videos will be short and simple, and you can delete them as soon as they’ve served their purpose!

Sharing videos privately within the class is optional, but strongly encouraged.
Registered participants will receive more details about getting set up for this class in advance. Don’t worry, it’s not a lot! Just a few things that will make your experience go more smoothly.
